On initiative of the youth commettee of Zeleznik city
council and the Factory Of Machines ILR on 26th march
1975 BC ILR ZELEZNIK was founded. The club was within
the sports society ILR from Zeleznik, which had 700
members divided into eight different kinds of sports

The greatest success was achieved
in April 2004 when “Panters” in the Finals of the
Goodyear league defeated the host Cibona , thus making
happy all the basketball fans of serbia and Montenegro.
The reason is clear enough, this is the first
international club title won by one team from the
territory of Serbia and Montenegro after 12 long years.
The frontman of the generation was the captain Ognjen
Askrabic who was along with Raggie Freeman the best
player in the tournament finish.
The 2004\05 season “FMP Zeleznik”
started in the best way, by winning the Radivoje Korac
Cup in Vrsac. In the stunning finals match Partisan
was defeated resulting that the 3rd cup of the National
Cup winner was placed in the triumphal hall of the team
from Zeleznik. In the last decade, the six junior gold
medals have been won, ( 3 at republic and the same
number at united level), 3 cadet golds ( 2 at the
rebublic and 1 at the united levels) and 4 pioneer
medals ( 1 republic and 3 at the united level) .
Representative players of the national selection are the
ones such as Aleksandrov, Teodosic, Labovic, Covic,
Smiljanic, Macvan, Djokic, Muslija, etc. The basketball
talents grow up in Zeleznik day by day, giving hope that
our basketball will be back on its way of success .
Apart from our basketball legend Rasa Radovanovic, a
great credit for finding new players is to be paid to
the coatches such as Dragan Dragosavac and Milovan
Bulatovic responsible for work with the most talented
ones. That the club policy in the sense of playing is
submitted to the development of talents best shows the
fact that the average age of a senior team is 21.
During years the Club “FMP Zeleznik” has achieved
amasing results in its work with young players, who are
a guarantee of the club’s future success. Their earlier
success at home and guest courts as well as their
playing in the national colours best mark the high
quality of our work. It is not unusual that basketball
experts point out that a new, modern work strategy is
in question.
The “FMP” players have won the
GOODYEAR league for the second time in the last three
years. In the dramatic finals the team from Zeleznik
defeated Partisan by a score of 73 :72. In the 2006\07
season “FMP” won the Radivoje Korac Cup for the third
time, when Partisan lost by a score of 73:61. In the
same season we entered semi-finals of the Uleb Cup.
